The history of Italiana Assicurazioni dates back to 1889 and the founding of the "Coooperativa Italiana Incendio" by a group of textile entrepreneurs in Milan. More than a century has passed since then, during which the company has enjoyed huge expansion and rapid growth. It joined the Reale Group in 1966.

The merging of several businesses that were already part of the Reale Group, resulted in the formation of one larger, more complex organisation, capable of delivering an even higher standard of reliable, continuous service.

Creativity, efficiency and flexibility are the three core values of Italiana Assicurazioni, and form the basis for its offering of specially tailored solutions to meet its customers' needs. Building on the principles, values and guidelines set out in the code of ethics of the Reale Group, Italiana Assicurazioni is particularly attentive and responsive to the needs of its Policyholders.

With more than 1.100.000 customers and some 1.200 agencies and intermediaries, today Italiana Assicurazioni is a leading medium-sized insurance undertaking. It develops innovative, efficient and flexible solutions to cover its customers' needs for protection against personal risks and professional liability insurance.

1st January 2019 represents a new important step in Italiana Assicurazioni brand history.
In fact, at the end of an integration process started in 2017 and lasted just over 18 months, Italiana Assicurazioni has incorporated the companies of Uniqa Italia Group - Uniqa Assicurazioni, Uniqa Previdenza and Uniqa Life - into two synergistic worlds: that of Italiana, whose success is based on a strong collaboration with the agency sales network, and that one of Uniqa Italia Group, which has distinguished itself on the market for a profitable growth over time, a physical multichannel and a deep expertise in life sector.
This significant market action has represented for Italiana Assicurazioni the opportunity to redifine its own organization, enhancing the opportunities which came from the integration of the networks, of the product portfolio and of the professional skills present in all the Companies involved.

That's how the new Italiana Assicurazioni was born. An even more Unique and Great Company, as the result of meeting and sharing different stories and paths, which will integrate the skills and passion of over 8.000 professionals across the Country, in order to offer an even more complete and high quality service.
